If I Was A Classic Rock DJ
All that it takes to be a classic rock DJ is to make sure that “Sultans Of Swing” is playing every time someone turns on the radio. So that would be the only song I would ever play, and I would make a ton of cheesy references to it:
DJ DJ here, that’s right, my initials are DJ and I’m a DJ. You’re listening to nine in row on Classic Rock Ninety-Six-Nine, Richmond’s only classic rock station. Let’s send it over to Phil to check on the weather. Ohhh nevermind, I just felt a shiver in the dark and I think it’s raining in the park, but in the meantime, here’s Dire Straits with Sultans Of Swing:
We’re back on Richmond’s only classic rock station, Ninety Six nine, home of the nine in a row commercial free classic rock block. Hey, check out this Guitar George fellow, I hear he knows all the chords:
I hope you don’t give a damn about any trumpet playin’ band, cause here’s the LIVE version of Sultans Of Swing, by Diiiiiiiiire Staitsssssss:
You’re listening to Classic Rock 96.9 WWUZ FM, home of Brady In The Morning, Mr Cornelius, and Nights With Alice Cooper. Be sure to join the 96.9 All Access Work Force, to get more information on Dire Straits’ Sultans Of Swing. Coming up next in your nine in a row classic rock block: Sultans Of Swing with Mark Knopfler on guitar, you know he can play the honky-tonk like anything!
Back here on Classic Rock 96.9. Remember all the songs and the artists who played them are listed on our website at classicrock969.com. But don’t bother going there, I can tell ya all the songs and artists I play: Sultans Of Swing, by Dire Straits! Looks like I’ve just received a traffic update: It’s looking pretty congested way on down-south, way on down-south, Londontown!
I’ve got some breaking news here, it appears I’ve just been fired. Don’t worry about me, I’m just like Harry, “I’ve got a daytime job, I’m doin’ alright.” Although, I bet an old guitar is all I can afford now, so I’ll have to start savin’ up for Friday night. So I’ll step right away from the microphone, and say just like that ol’ Sultan, “Thank you good night now it’s time to go home.” HEY, HEY QUIT TASERING ME!!!
