Will The Dumb And Dumber Sequel Be Dumb?
They’re finally making Dumb and Dumber 2. I usually make fun of sequels, but I can’t complain about Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels both coming back to film a sequel to one of my favorite movies. As long as it’s nothing like that prequel Dumb and Dumberer and Adam Sandler isn’t in it playing multiple characters, I think I’ll go see it. I just hope it’s dumb in a good way and not dumb in a bad way, if that makes sense.
I think I actually might have been the only person to buy Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd on DVD. I don’t know why I bought it, it’s not like it was good or anything, but I bought it nonetheless. I suppose that’s what eBay is for. Anyone want to buy it off me? Come to think of it, I might have even seen it in theaters. I think those two purchases should qualify me for a free ticket to the new movie.
Speaking of DVD’s, I saw that they sell them in the checkout line at the grocery store right next to the candy bars now. Kroger had such Razzie Award winning films as The Zookeeper and Jack and Jill. So what, are DVDs an impulse buy now? I guess people are thinking “I got my bread, milk, eggs…ooh, I think I’ll pick up this Kit Kat bar and the $23.99 DVD of Jack and Jill.” I wish I had enough money so that a DVD would be an impulse buy.
Getting back on track, there’s already been Dumb and Dumber and Dumb and Dumberer, so what will the title be? Just Dumb and Dumber 2 or something dumber like Dumberer and Dumberester? I don’t know. I do hope they bring back Fred Stoller and Harland Williams though.
Anyway, I like this news a lot.
